Day 16 29th June Geraldton/Carnarvon 460km
Finally I could start to get rid of the thermal underwear, the weather has started to warm up.
The trip to Carnarvon was flat and straight. There were some very pleasant country areas, in certain parts it looked like a continual golf course, no flags or sand bunkers though.
But apart from the above this is just a long haul.
Met with Tristan from Carnarvon News for a local news story.
The population of Carnarvon is approx 7000 people.
Ride for Life! RIde for Youth! 42 days, 13,000+ kms round Oz
This blog is devoted to raising awareness of Youth Suicide so that it can be prevented.
The blog will track Joe's progress on his 42 day treck round Australia on a motorbike as he gathers support for this cause.
Australia has the highest incidence of Youth Suicide in the world. The major cause of suicide is a lack of connectedness to family, friends and community.
We want to get people excited about connecting with our young people so they don't feel isolated, depressed and hopeless. We want people to care enough about this problem to do somehthng about preventing it, not just picking up the peices afterwards.
Check out the website for details about the trip and for information about Youth Suicide: http://www.ozzieroadtrip.com/
If you're concerned about someone seek professional advice (see links at right).
We want you to get involved so check the blog daily for updates and send your own posts to the blog. Tell other people about this issue, get people excited about saving our Youth from depression and thinking that suicide is an option.
